Food Packaging & Disposables

It covers every single-use and short-life item that moves food from your kitchen to the customer. That means takeaway containers, hot and cold cups, napkins, cling wrap, foil, food bags, disposable cutlery, straws and protective gloves. Think of it as the consumables backbone of a food service operation — the things your team reaches for dozens of times each service.

The range splits into six main groups: takeaway containers and food packaging, disposable cups and lids, napkins and table consumables, food bags plus wrap, foil and labels, disposable cutlery and straws, and disposable gloves and apparel. Brands across those groups include Pac TRADING, BioPak, Awesome Plastics, MaxValu, Vogue, Redds, Hygiplas and San Jamar.

Conventional plastic containers — such as the Awesome Plastics ribbed rectangular range — are cost-effective for high-volume operations where price per unit matters most. Compostable options from BioPak suit venues with sustainability commitments or councils that mandate green waste disposal. Your choice usually comes down to your local waste stream, your customer expectations and your per-service cost budget.

Sizes run from small snack portions right through to large family-meal containers. The Awesome Plastics ribbed rectangular line, for example, spans 500 ml, 750 ml and 1,000 ml in a single matching system with a universal lid. Most kitchens stock two or three sizes to handle entrees, mains and sides without switching to a different container family.

Lid compatibility depends on the container family, not just the brand. Where a container and lid are sold as a matched system — as with the Awesome Plastics ribbed rectangular range — the lid SKU is listed alongside the containers so you can order both together. Always check the product detail to confirm the lid is designed for the specific container you are buying.

Not always — and the distinction matters. Hot paper cups are lined to handle heat and resist softening, while cold cups are designed for iced drinks and are not rated for hot liquids. The PakMax single-layer hot paper cup range is a good example of a product built specifically for hot service. Check the product description to confirm the intended use before ordering for a new application.

Glove choice depends on the work: food prep, cleaning chemicals and handling hot items each call for a different material and thickness. Lighter gloves suit general food handling where dexterity matters; heavier options are better for cleaning duties. San Jamar and Hygiplas both carry gloves across the range. Check the product detail for the intended application before committing to a carton quantity.

Keep cartons sealed until you need them and store them away from moisture, direct sunlight and strong odours. Napkins and paper cups can absorb ambient smells if left open near cooking areas. Rotate stock so older cartons are used first. For gloves and food-contact items, store in a cool, dry space and check that packaging is intact before putting product into service.

Each SKU is sold as its own unit — a carton of 500 ml containers is a separate line from the 750 ml carton, for example. There are no pre-mixed assortment cartons. That said, you can add as many different SKUs to a single order as you need, and everything ships together Australia-wide in one delivery.

For a busy cafe or restaurant that buys napkins, containers and cups in regular carton quantities, the savings across a full year add up meaningfully.
