Equipment Stands & Bases

215 products

Wobbly gear and mismatched bench heights slow your kitchen down. Equipment stands and bases put your ovens, combi units and worktops at the right height, on a stable footing, so your team can work clean and fast. We stock open-base stands, worktop bases with drawers, and mobile substructures from brands including Giorik, Waldorf, CookRite and Trueheat.

Every unit ships to you Australia-wide, and members save off RRP across the full range. Build quality runs to commercial-grade stainless steel throughout, so these bases handle daily punishment without complaint.

Equipment Stands & Bases — Common Questions

What are equipment stands and bases in a commercial kitchen?+

Equipment stands and bases are purpose-built support structures that raise ovens, combi steamers, worktops and other heavy appliances to a safe and ergonomic working height. They are constructed from stainless steel to handle the weight of commercial equipment, resist moisture and meet the hygiene demands of a busy kitchen environment.

What types of stands and bases does Chefs Depot stock?+

You'll find open-base stands, worktop bases on open frames, worktop bases fitted with drawers for extra storage, and mobile substructures designed for combi units. Brands across the range include Giorik, Waldorf, CookRite, Trueheat, Zanussi, Adande, American Range and Zanolli, covering a broad spread of series widths and configurations.

Open base or drawer base — which suits my kitchen better?+

An open-base stand gives you easy access underneath for cleaning and lets you store trays or bins in the cavity without any fixed fitment. A drawer base trades that flexibility for organised, lockable storage right at the point of use. If your team pulls smallwares constantly during service, the drawer base pays for itself in saved steps. For sites that need the cavity free for trolleys or waste bins, open base is the cleaner answer.

How do I match a stand to the width of my existing equipment?+

Start with the footprint of the appliance sitting on top — width and depth both matter. Giorik's 700 and 900 Series bases, for example, come in 600 mm and 800 mm wide variants to match their corresponding cooking suite widths. Always check the manufacturer's series pairing before you order, because a mismatched base can void installation compliance and create a tipping hazard.

Are these stands suitable for heavy combi ovens?+

Most stands in this range are engineered for the equipment lines they accompany, so a combi-specific substructure — like the RATIONAL iHexagon Substructure with Feet — is designed around that oven's weight distribution and door-swing clearance. Fitting a generic stand to a heavy combi is not recommended. Match the stand to the appliance model as the manufacturer specifies.

Can I use a mobile substructure instead of a fixed stand?+

Mobile substructures fitted with castors let you roll equipment out for deep cleaning behind and underneath, which is a real advantage in smaller kitchens. Check that the castors include locking wheels before use during service. Some mobile kits, such as the RATIONAL iHexagon Kit for mobile Combi-Duo, are model-specific, so confirm compatibility with your appliance before purchasing.

How do I install a commercial equipment stand safely?+

Most stands arrive flat-packed or partly assembled and bolt together with the hardware supplied. Levelling feet are standard on fixed-leg models — adjust them on a flat floor before loading the appliance. For gas equipment, installation must be completed by a licensed gasfitter regardless of how straightforward the stand assembly looks. Always follow the appliance manufacturer's installation guide and your local authority's requirements.

How do I keep stainless steel stands clean in a working kitchen?+

Wipe down with a damp cloth and a mild detergent after each service. Avoid steel wool or abrasive pads, which scratch the surface and create spots where bacteria can harbour. For stubborn grease, a dedicated stainless steel degreaser applied with a soft cloth works well. Always wipe in the direction of the grain to maintain the finish and prevent premature surface wear.

Do Chefs Depot members get a better price on stands and bases?+

Yes — members save off RRP across the equipment stands and bases range, the same as the rest of the site. If your cafe, restaurant or catering business buys regularly, a membership quickly offsets itself. You'll also get member pricing on the matching equipment lines from brands like Giorik, Waldorf and CookRite, so it makes sense to kit out a full suite in one order.
