Question 1

What is hospitality linen, and what does this category cover?

Accepted Answer

Hospitality linen refers to the textiles a commercial venue uses across guest rooms and service areas — bed linen such as sheet sets, mattress toppers, coverlets and bedcaps, plus bath linen and kitchen textiles like tea towels. This category brings all of those together in one place, covering both sleeping accommodation and food service needs so operators can order everything from a single source.

Question 2

What types of linen are stocked here?

Accepted Answer

You'll find bed linen including sheet sets, quilts, mattress toppers, coverlets and bedcaps sized for single, double, queen and king beds. Tea towels and butcher's stripe cloths from Vogue cover the kitchen and service side. Bath and cleaning textiles from Caprice, NAB Clean and Gentility round out the range, giving cafes, restaurants and accommodation venues a broad selection in one order.

Question 3

How do I choose between cotton-rich and easy-care sheet sets for my rooms?

Accepted Answer

Easy-care blends, like the Easywash range, hold their shape through high-temperature commercial laundering and dry faster, which matters when your turnaround between guests is tight. Cotton-rich options tend to feel softer and suit properties where guest comfort is the primary driver. Think about your laundry setup first — if you're running a high-volume operation, faster drying and lower ironing time usually wins out over hand feel.

Question 4

How do I match linen sizing to my beds?

Accepted Answer

Check the fitted sheet or bedcap dimensions against your actual mattress depth, not just the bed size. Commercial mattresses often sit deeper than residential ones, so a standard queen fitted sheet may pull off corners overnight. Product codes here include dimensions — for example, a bedcap listed as 152x203x35 tells you the length, width and depth allowance. Measure your mattress before ordering to avoid a misfit that frustrates housekeeping.

Question 5

Can I buy tea towels and kitchen cloths in the same order as bed linen?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Vogue tea towel range — including heavy single and butcher's stripe styles — sits alongside the bed and bath linen in this category. Ordering both in one go saves a separate transaction and means a single delivery to your venue. It also makes it easier to keep track of reorder cycles when everything comes from one account.

Question 6

What should I look for in a mattress topper for a busy accommodation venue?

Accepted Answer

Durability through repeated laundering is the first priority. Look for toppers with a deep skirt or anchor straps that keep them from shifting when guests move around. The fill weight affects warmth, so match that to your climate and whether your rooms have climate control. A topper that bunches or flattens after a dozen washes adds to housekeeping time and replacement costs, so construction quality matters more than price per unit alone.

Question 7

How should commercial linen be laundered to extend its life?

Accepted Answer

Follow the care label, but most commercial hospitality linen is designed for warm to hot machine washing with a commercial detergent. Avoid overloading the washer — linen that doesn't agitate freely comes out less clean and wears faster. Tumble dry on a medium setting where the label allows, and remove promptly to reduce creasing. Separating heavily soiled kitchen textiles from sleeping linen keeps cross-contamination out of the laundry process.

Question 8

How often should a venue replace its linen stock?

Accepted Answer

There is no fixed rule, but most operators find that sheets and pillowcases show visible wear — thinning, pilling or persistent staining — after regular use over one to two years in a high-turnover setting. Tea towels and cloths cycle out faster because of the heat and chemical exposure from kitchen use. Running a small buffer of backup stock means you're not caught short when a batch reaches end of life.

Question 9

Do members get a better price on linen orders?

Accepted Answer

Members save off RRP across the linen range, including bed sets, toppers, coverlets and tea towels. If your venue is ordering linen regularly — restocking rooms each season or replacing kitchen cloths monthly — the savings across a year add up meaningfully. Sign up for a Chefs Depot trade account to access member pricing on your next order.

Question 10

What does linen typically cost for a commercial venue fitting out multiple rooms?

Accepted Answer

Costs vary depending on the size and quality tier you choose. Basic easy-care sheet sets for single and double beds sit at a lower price point than premium cotton-rich queen or king options. Buying in volume through a trade account, with members saving off RRP, brings the per-unit cost down. We'd recommend pricing up a full room kit — sheets, topper, coverlet and pillowcases — rather than individual lines to get a realistic total.
